The Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business and the Faculty have very fruitful relations with business representatives and employers in the field of hotel and restaurant business. Teachers of the department are members of many professional associations and organizations, where they have the opportunity to meet and communicate with business representatives (Association of Chefs of Southern Ukraine, International Organization “La Foundation por la Formation Hoteliere”, NGO “Hospitality Development Foundation” and others). Employers take an active part in regular vacancy fairs and various thematic events of the Faculty (BBQ festival, culinary competitions of the academy, are members of HEC in the defense of diploma projects, etc.). Business representatives regularly hold open lectures and workshops for faculty students.
Focus groups, round tables and online surveys with business representatives on “Improving the quality of OP in the specialty Hotel and restaurant business in ONUT” were repeatedly conducted. According to the survey of students and graduates, 75% work in the specialty in the hotel and restaurant business (60% began working in the specialty from the 2nd year of the Academy). The department of hotel and restaurant business has created a database of contacts of all graduates and periodically monitors career paths and meetings of graduates. Most graduates work in management positions in restaurants and hotels in Odessa, Ukraine and other countries. Graduates actively support all events organized by the Faculty and act as members of the jury of the annual BBQ festival, culinary competitions of the academy, are members of the EC in the defense of diploma projects and more.
